Position Overview
The Global Logistics Coordinator role at Giga Energy is pivotal to managing and executing the international supply chain. This hands-on position requires ownership of daily operations that facilitate smooth movement of materials, parts, and finished products worldwide. Responsibilities include managing ocean and trucking carriers, coordinating imports and exports, maintaining terminal relationships, overseeing third-party logistics providers and customs brokers, with a sharp focus on regulatory compliance. Collaboration with manufacturing, sales, and project teams ensures alignment with Giga’s rapid expansion in the data center sector.
Work Environment and Location
Giga Energy values in-person collaboration crucial for fast decision making and physical infrastructure development. This role is primarily based in the company’s offices in San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston, with expectations for full-time onsite presence apart from bi-weekly remote work Fridays. Exceptions may be considered for outstanding candidates residing outside these hubs after suitable discussion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ocean shipping bookings and strategy alongside manufacturing and procurement partners.
- Oversee incoming shipments, coordinate with port terminals and trucking services.
- Monitor contracts with carriers, track rate revisions and surcharges to ensure proper cost applications.
- Handle inbound drayage and domestic trucking logistics for units, parts, and components to Giga facilities.
- Manage outbound trucking for finished goods including transformers, switchgear, and enclosures destined for customers or project sites.
- Support miscellaneous and parcel shipments to maintain on-time material flow.
- Prepare and manage export documentation and shipments coordination with international partners.
- Own customs clearance including classification and verification processes, monitor duty expenses and tariff alterations, liaising with customs authorities as needed.
- Review and validate logistics-related invoices to guarantee accuracy.
- Track landed costs and freight expenditures per order to aid precise financial reporting.
- Collaborate with Sales to provide logistics cost inputs for quotations.
- Assist manufacturing and project delivery teams to ensure material availability aligns with production and deployment schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or an equivalent related field or experience.
- Two to four years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain management, or freight operations, ideally within manufacturing, industrial, or electrical infrastructure sectors.
- Good understanding of international shipping freight, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
- Experience in coordinating with carriers, third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, or customs agents.
- Demonstrated export management skills including documentation and booking coordination for global shipments.
- Knowledge of oversized and breakbulk freight logistics, particularly heavy or non-containerized cargo movements.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple shipments and competing priorities effectively.
- Proficient with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, comfortable creating trackers and managing complex shipment data.
- Detail-oriented approach with capacity to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Preferred Extras
- Experience related to data center infrastructure, electrical equipment, or modular construction supply chain logistics.
- Familiarity with logistics of transformers, switchgear, or power system heavy equipment and long-lead materials.
- Working knowledge of ERP or Transportation Management Systems for supply chain visibility and tracking.
- Multilingual abilities such as Spanish or Mandarin advantageous for supporting international manufacturing operations.

Pay Details
