Position Overview
We have an exciting opening in our Molding department located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, for a Lean Engineer. This role is responsible for implementing and managing lean principles, tools, and systems throughout the manufacturing site to enhance efficiency and productivity. The role requires collaboration at all organizational levels, offering leadership, guidance, and mentoring to foster lean methodologies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to amplify operational efficiency, product quality, and overall productivity across the organization.
- Develop and collaborate with senior management to execute operational excellence strategies aligned with company goals and industry best practices.
- Implement continuous improvement programs using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to promote a culture of ongoing enhancement.
- Manage and lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects identifying areas for optimization and driving effective solutions.
- Apply lean tools including 5S, Kaizen, SMED, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and conduct Value Stream Mapping to eliminate waste and variability.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, Gemba walks, root cause analysis, and other improvement activities.
- Coordinate internal audits of manufacturing processes and management systems.
- Analyze operational data using advanced analytical tools to identify trends and improvement opportunities and report results to stakeholders.
- Provide leadership to facilitate organizational change, including training and communication at all levels to embed a culture of operational excellence.
- Oversee and develop the operational excellence team, including training employees in continuous improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate across departments (Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering) to optimize processes, reduce costs, and support new product introductions.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, cycle time, and defect rates.
- Participate in safety and quality enhancement initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Establish strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders to facilitate successful collaborative projects.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, SMED, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies, preferably holding a Green Belt certification or higher.
- Strong analytical capabilities, project management, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate teams.
- Proficiency in software tools including MS Office, AutoCAD, and statistical analysis programs like Minitab.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and promote a performance-driven culture.
- A passion for improving people, processes, and tools within the manufacturing environment.
