Job description
Role Summary
The Functional Lead / Business Analyst role focuses on the insurance and reinsurance domain, particularly utilizing Moody's Analytics platforms such as Risk Modeler, UnderwriteIQ, TreatyIQ, and ExposureIQ. This position requires deep subject matter expertise to provide industry best-practice guidance and ensure successful application of Moody's Intelligent Risk Platform (IRP) solutions. The lead will work collaboratively with clients and internal teams, translating business processes into detailed functional requirements and overseeing solution quality across development, testing, and deployment phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the functional lead and domain expert for RMS/Moody's IRP platforms.
- Offer best-practice recommendations in insurance and reinsurance risk modeling via RMS/Moody's tools.
- Analyze client business workflows and challenges to produce comprehensive functional design documents.
- Mentor and support analysts, architects, developers, and QA to deliver high-quality solutions within the insurance/reinsurance domain.
Required Experience and Skills
- A minimum of 8 years' experience in insurance or reinsurance, encompassing underwriting, claims handling, exposure control, and risk modeling.
- At least 4 years working directly in catastrophe risk modeling, with practical experience on risk modeling platforms such as RMS or Moody’s IRP.
- Experience of 2 or more years participating in RMS/Moody’s IRP implementation or cloud migration projects.
- Demonstrated capability in transforming business needs into precise functional specifications.
