Laundry Supervisor

Position Overview

The Laundry Supervisor will manage the daily activities of the laundry department to ensure guest garments, linens, and uniforms are impeccably cleaned, cared for, and presented. This role plays a critical part in delivering a flawless and luxurious guest experience through meticulous attention to detail, operational efficiency, and uncompromising quality standards. In a pre-opening context, this position is vital in establishing systems, standard procedures, and operational best practices for the laundry function.

Key Duties

• Oversee daily laundry operations including washing, drying, ironing, and finishing tasks.
• Ensure that all guest clothing, linens, and staff uniforms are treated with care and returned spotless and well-presented.
• Monitor workflows, productivity levels, and turnaround times to consistently meet service expectations.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping and Uniform departments for timely availability of linens and uniforms.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of laundry equipment and facilities during the pre-opening phase.
• Help develop and implement standard operating procedures, workflow processes, and quality benchmarks aligned with Rosewood's ultra-luxury standards.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and staff training for laundry personnel.
• Conduct testing of laundry machinery, chemicals, and processes to optimize performance and fabric care.
• Maintain strict quality control throughout the laundry cycle to uphold high standards.
• Inspect finished items for cleanliness, defects, and presentation before delivery.
• Handle delicate fabrics, designer garments, and specialty textiles with exceptional care.
• Enforce hygiene and safety standards in all operations within the laundry department.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma or certification related to Laundry Operations, Housekeeping, or Hospitality is preferred.
• Three to five years of experience managing laundry services within luxury hotels or resorts.
• Proven supervisory experience is essential.
• Experience working in a pre-opening environment is a plus.
• Strong expertise with laundry machinery, fabric care techniques, and chemical handling.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with hotel management systems.
• Proficient in English communication; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is advantageous.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
