Job description
Role Overview
We seek a talented Laser Production Technician to join the night shift team, contributing to the manufacturing and testing of lasers and laser sub-assemblies conforming to specific technical criteria. This role involves handling fiber optic components, troubleshooting laser diode problems, and aligning optical, mechanical, and electrical elements into precise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and evaluate lasers, sub-assemblies, and components ensuring compliance with detailed specifications.
- Manage fiber optic tasks including handling, splicing, routing, pig-tailing, and operating laser diodes.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to fiber assemblies and laser diodes.
- Perform assembly and optical alignment of fiber-based systems as per technical requirements.
- Integrate optical, mechanical, and electrical sub-assemblies into full system units and conduct system testing.
- Use precision instruments for installation and alignment of these sub-assemblies within systems.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least an ITE certificate or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of three years’ experience working in a relevant technical field.
- Proficient technical skills in optical, mechanical, and electrical assembly processes.
- Competence in assembling complex mechanical, electrical, and optical sub-systems.
- Ability to interpret complex technical instructions including mathematical diagrams and operate with both abstract and concrete technical variables.
- Experienced in troubleshooting and resolving technical faults.
