Junior Investment Analyst

About the Role

The London Treasury, a regulated investment manager under the FCA, is seeking a Junior Investment Analyst to join its growing public sector investment team based in London. This role offers a valuable opportunity for an early-career professional to engage directly with portfolio management, liquidity strategies, and investment operations within a fund worth approximately £4 billion that serves public sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily transactions aligned with the fund's investment strategy including managing cash positions and trade execution.
• Analyze money market conditions such as interest rates and counterparty pricing to support trading choices.
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with banks, brokers, and other investment counterparties.
• Support preparation of fund reports concerning positions, liquidity status, and performance metrics.
• Contribute to investment due diligence and assist in the development of investment committee documentation.
• Engage in continuous market monitoring and data analysis to inform investment strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive investment records and documentation for compliance and audit purposes.

Candidate Requirements

• Familiarity with FCA-regulated environments.
• Understanding of money market instruments and fixed income products.
• Experience conducting investment due diligence.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel including financial modelling and data analysis capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mind-set.
• Excellent organisational skills capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in finance, economics or related field, or professional qualifications such as IMC, CFA Level I, or ACT.
• Previous experience with dealing in money markets and fixed income securities.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg or Quantum platforms.
