Role Overview and Responsibilities

We seek a numerate, inquisitive, and meticulous Junior Forecast Analyst to support sales forecasting, market research, and performance reporting for our console and PC game offerings. This position suits a professional with strong analytical capabilities and enthusiasm for video gaming who aims to influence business strategies actively.

• Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining forecasts, scenario analyses, and performance assessments for both upcoming and existing game titles.
• Support the development and upkeep of Excel-based data models, reports, and dashboards with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Examine sales data, pricing strategies, promotions, and market trends to pinpoint opportunities and risks within the console and PC gaming sectors.
• Conduct research on competitors, similar game titles, genre developments, and platform behavior to inform forecasting assumptions and recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as sales, marketing, finance, and analytics to collect input and communicate results concisely.
• Verify data quality, review model outputs, and ensure that analytical processes are well-organized, transparent, and dependable.
• Prepare and review documents for management presentations and summaries.
• Perform additional administrative duties, periodic reports, and special projects as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong analytical skills with the capability to interpret complex data and address problems in a systematic fashion.
• Proficiency in Excel, comfortable handling large datasets, constructing models, and conducting quantitative analysis.
• Mathematical proficiency, including familiarity with statistics, modeling, probability, and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Passion for and solid understanding of the console and PC gaming market dynamics.
• Excellent attention to detail, effective organizational skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks within deadlines.
• Clear communication skills, capable of explaining analytical insights to audiences without technical backgrounds.

Preferred But Not Required

• Experience utilizing Python for data analysis or modeling tasks.
• Working knowledge of SQL for querying and handling structured data.
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Japanese language proficiency at native level or JLPT N1 certification.
