About The Role
Based in Nigeria, this full-time Junior Buyer position at Siemens Energy plays a crucial part in ensuring smooth operational purchasing that supports the company's business goals. The primary focus is on sourcing necessary goods, materials, and services while effectively balancing cost control, quality standards, and delivery timelines to maintain continuous supply. Collaboration with suppliers and internal teams is essential to uphold procurement excellence, optimize operations, and aid Siemens Energy's delivery of dependable energy solutions globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle purchase requests by generating and issuing purchase orders adhering to company protocols and procurement policies.
- Oversee purchase orders from initiation through to delivery, ensuring supplies are cost-efficient and uninterrupted.
- Track and expedite supplier shipments to align with operational needs and project deadlines.
- Maintain proactive communication with suppliers concerning order progress, delivery scheduling, and any supply-related risks.
- Promptly escalate any procurement risks or delivery issues to the appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, punctuality, and responsiveness, addressing concerns as needed.
- Keep supplier master data and procurement records accurate and updated within company databases.
- Assist in negotiating pricing and payment arrangements for low-value purchases.
- Provide high-quality customer service by responding quickly and professionally to procurement requests from internal teams.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in procurement operations such as consolidating orders, streamlining processes, and reducing costs.
- Ensure strict adherence to Siemens Energy's procurement standards, policies, and ethical sourcing guidelines.
Candidate Profile
- At least three years of experience in areas such as Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Operations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is advantageous.
- Experience or exposure to international supplier relationships or global sourcing is a plus.
