About the role
HELM is a family-owned company with a global outlook, focused on building forward-looking solutions for customers through continuous exchange of ideas and long-term thinking. The business operates across areas such as operations, quality management, process optimization, product development, and distribution, combining innovation, reliability, and practical problem-solving.
As a Junior Business Intelligence Developer for the data warehouse environment, you will help build and run a modern analytics platform. In close cooperation with experienced team members, you will turn raw source data into clear data models and data marts that support business reporting and decision-making.
The role sits within a cloud-first analytics setup that was created in 2023 as a greenfield solution. You will work with Snowflake for data storage, Azure for cloud integration, and Power BI for reporting and visualization. This is a strong opportunity to expand your BI and data engineering capabilities while learning established practices in data modeling, ETL, and analytics architecture.
You will join a team working on HELM’s global data platform and collaborate with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners. As you build experience, you will gradually take on broader ownership and responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation of business-focused data marts designed for Power BI reporting.
- Support the upkeep and ongoing improvement of the global analytics environment built on Azure, Snowflake, and Power BI.
- Assist in tracking and enhancing data quality as well as system performance.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver new business requirements.
- Help business teams and IT colleagues with everyday analytics-related requests and issues.
- Participate in initiatives that continuously improve the global data platform.
- Learn and apply good practices for data integration, ETL workflows, and governance.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, or a similar field/qualification.
- Initial professional exposure, internship experience, or a university focus in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, or Analytics.
- Basic understanding of cloud services; hands-on experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of data modeling approaches such as Data Vault, Kimball, or 3NF, along with an interest in data governance.
- Working familiarity with SQL and the motivation to build deeper expertise.
- Experience with Python or another scripting language is beneficial.
- A structured way of working, analytical thinking, and a strong willingness to learn.
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.
- Applicants who do not meet every requirement are still encouraged to apply if they bring motivation and the right fit for the team.
