Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Java Solution Architect based in Bengaluru or Mumbai with over 15 years of experience, specializing in architecture and design-heavy roles focused on enterprise and digital banking applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive architectures for large-scale Java-based enterprise and digital banking solutions.
• Design microservices-oriented systems, event-driven architectures, and RESTful APIs.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, performant, secure, resilient, and maintainable.
• Produce architectural documentation such as high and low-level designs, sequence diagrams, and deployment diagrams.
• Act as a technical leader mentoring senior and junior developers.
• Review code and architectural designs to uphold best practices and compliance standards.
• Influence technology roadmaps, framework decisions, and drive modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively with DevOps, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams.
• Design solutions compliant with banking regulations and security standards including PCI-DSS, ISO, and SOC2.
• Possess strong knowledge of core banking functions like payments, lending, cards, AML, and KYC.
• Ensure adherence to data privacy, encryption, and audit requirements.
• Guide teams in Agile and SAFe methodologies to ensure timely delivery.
• Advocate cloud-native development approaches, continuous integration/delivery, and DevSecOps.
• Provide expertise in resolving complex production and performance issues.

Required Technical Expertise

• Proficient with Java (versions 8, 11, 17) along with frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Micronaut.
• Strong experience in Hibernate and JPA.
• Expertise in microservices architecture and domain-driven design principles.
• Familiarity with event-driven patterns using Kafka or RabbitMQ and service-oriented architectures.
• Understanding of design patterns (including Circuit Breaker) and SOLID principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure (preferred), or GCP.
• Competent in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab, and Azure DevOps.
• Database skills with RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra considered a plus).
• Familiar with messaging services like Kafka, MQ, and ActiveMQ.
• Security expertise in OAuth2, JWT, SSO, API security, and encryption/key management with banking-grade security standards.

Preferred Domain Experience

• Over five years of experience in banking or financial services.
• Exposure to core banking platforms, payment gateways, and digital banking technologies.
• Understanding of transaction processing, reconciliation, settlements, and regulatory compliance.

Soft Skills and Additional Qualifications

• Ability to map business requirements into technical design solutions.
• Strong leadership and mentoring qualities.
