Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure all cable management, labeling, and installations adhere strictly to both industry standards and Air Products DT/IT protocols.
  • Oversee installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling solutions including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optics for diverse systems like data, voice, and CCTV.
  • Execute fiber optic testing using OTDR and Fluke tools with proper documentation.
  • Plan and organize IT room cabinet layouts, mount related equipment, and maintain precise cable management documentation.
  • Conduct thorough inspections verifying communication cable installations meet project specifications.
  • Manage external IT contractors, vendors, and service providers to coordinate DT infrastructure support services effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues involving damaged or malfunctioning network cabling, connectors, and drops.
  • Collaborate with DT project teams on installation and configuration tasks such as DMZ setups.
  • Perform all onsite tasks in compliance with health and safety regulations, including adherence to safety work permits and risk assessments.
  • Facilitate technical support for Microwave and Tetra tower installations by working closely with external vendors.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain detailed inspection test reports and upload them to designated platforms like Aconex and OT.
  • Set up and manage temporary IT infrastructure components such as network cabling, wireless access points, and VPN connectivity.
  • Coordinate locally to remediate issues and deploy updates with other remote DIS teams focusing primarily on network and wireless services.
  • Deliver local IT support ensuring IT standards and safety are maintained within assigned IT facilities.
  • Provide IT support for industrial control systems at the site.
  • Conduct network hardware upgrades and installations related to Maintain Viability projects when network technical support is not directly involved.
