BI Group is a global real estate developer specializing in residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. With ongoing expansion in the UAE, the company seeks a proactive and hands-on IT Infrastructure and Support Engineer to maintain the stability, security, and efficiency of IT systems for around 100 employees in its Dubai office.
Role Overview
The IT Infrastructure and Support Engineer will oversee the complete management of the UAE office's IT environment, including end-user support, infrastructure administration, enterprise networking, cloud collaboration tools, hardware lifecycle, software licenses, office technology, and local IT initiatives. This position serves as the primary IT contact for the Dubai branch, working closely with the BI Group Headquarters IT team and local technology vendors to ensure continuous technological performance and security.
Key Duties
- Deliver first and second-level technical support for all employees, covering hardware, software, operating systems, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and macOS systems, including setting up devices and peripherals for new hires and handling onboarding/offboarding IT processes.
- Maintain and optimize the office network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, enterprise and mesh Wi-Fi networks (such as Ubiquiti, Aruba, TP-Link), and ensure robust internet connectivity.
- Manage local servers, NAS storage, Access Control Systems (card readers, turnstiles, biometrics), VoIP and SIP telephony under Etisalat CIP, coordinating with vendors and service providers.
- Take ownership of all IT hardware assets encompassing laptops, desktops, engineering workstations, monitors, TVs, AV and video conferencing systems, printers/scanners, mobile devices, and network equipment, overseeing procurement, installation, maintenance, repairs, warranties, replacements, and lifecycle tracking.
- Maintain comprehensive IT asset and software license records, ensuring renewal tracking, compliance monitoring, and subscription management.
- Administer and support business applications, including Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive), Active Directory, Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Autodesk products, and other SaaS collaboration platforms.
- Manage office technology such as conference room AV setups, displays, presentation tools, and provide support during important meetings.
- Act as the liaison with local IT vendors and collaborate with headquarters on infrastructure projects, security measures, system implementations, policies, and technology rollouts.
- Ensure adherence to corporate IT policies and security compliance including endpoint protection, antivirus monitoring, secure configurations, access management, data confidentiality, and cybersecurity awareness.
- Drive ongoing improvements in IT processes, propose technology enhancements and automation, document procedures and provide user guides, and contribute to office expansion and infrastructure projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- 4 to 7 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
- Proven track record managing hardware and software assets supporting offices with 80 to 200 staff.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Windows environments.
- Expertise in office network management and vendor coordination.
- UAE work experience preferred.
- Relevant certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or similar are advantageous.
Technical Competence
- Networking: TCP/IP, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, enterprise and mesh Wi-Fi (Ubiquiti, Aruba, TP-Link), VoIP/SIP telephony, Etisalat CIP services.
- Systems & Cloud: Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), endpoint and backup management, antivirus solutions.
- Business Applications: Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Autodesk software.
- Hardware: Workstation assembly/maintenance, laptop/desktop troubleshooting, GPU and RAM diagnostics, peripheral and printer management.
- Asset & Security: IT asset management, software license tracking, Access Control Systems, remote support, basic cybersecurity practices.
