Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically adept Investment Analyst to join our Sydney-based team. This position offers the chance to collaborate closely with our Chief Economist, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights, models, and research that influence investment strategies, portfolio allocations, and advisory communications.
Key Responsibilities and Candidate Attributes
- Possess a technical mindset with intellectual curiosity towards data analysis and investment research methodologies.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Bloomberg platforms and quantitative analysis techniques.
- Maintain high standards of precision, responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Show an authentic enthusiasm for investing and financial market dynamics.
- Eager to continuously learn and drive value in a high-performing workplace.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a tertiary degree in Economics, Finance, Commerce, or a similarly quantitative relevant field.
- Have at least three years of professional experience in investment research, quantitative analysis, or an aligned role within financial services.
- Expertise in Bloomberg and Excel, including proficiency with Bloomberg API and complex financial modeling.
- Competency in at least one programming or statistical language frequently used in quantitative finance such as Python, R, MATLAB, or VBA.
- Exposure to macroeconomic, market, and multi-asset class analysis, with a demonstrated desire to deepen expertise in these areas.
