Role Overview
This opening is for an IT Specialist based in the United States, offered via a partner company managing all recruitment procedures. The position involves supporting critical enterprise software within a complex governmental technology context. The chosen candidate will engage in designing, developing, modernizing, and sustaining secure applications pivotal to delivering key services to users. Working under Agile and SAFe frameworks, the individual will collaborate across development teams and stakeholders throughout the software lifecycle to build robust, scalable, and safe technological solutions. This role merges software engineering, systems support, DevSecOps methodologies, and persistent development efforts to advance system modernization.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, test, deploy, and uphold enterprise applications adhering to Agile and SAFe methodologies from inception to delivery.
- Take active part in scrum ceremonies including planning, backlog refinement, daily meetings, reviews, and retrospectives to promote iterative development.
- Develop and refine web applications, APIs, and integrations utilizing Microsoft .NET stack and current software engineering best practices.
- Create and maintain RESTful and SOAP web services, ensuring secure data exchanges employing formats like JSON and XML.
- Design responsive and accessible user interfaces that fulfill performance and usability standards.
- Manage and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases including query construction, stored procedures, and data modeling.
- Deploy and support CI/CD pipelines, automation of testing, version control, and DevSecOps approaches to strengthen delivery efficiency and security.
- Practice secure coding, conduct code reviews, perform vulnerability scans, and implement remediation to keep applications secure and compliant.
- Diagnose application issues and performance problems, providing sustainable solutions and automation where possible.
- Contribute to application modernization efforts improving scalability, architecture, maintainability, and operational workflows.
- Produce and update technical documentation, design records, configuration details, and coding standards.
- Coordinate with product owners, developers, testers, and business professionals to ensure solutions meet mission-critical and business needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years supporting enterprise IT infrastructures and operations, including experience with Windows servers and system administration.
- Experience developing enterprise web applications using Microsoft .NET tech such as C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, MVC, Blazor, and Entity Framework.
- Proficiency in Agile/SAFe environments, accustomed to scrum practices and incremental delivery.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, T-SQL, database objects, and data integration techniques.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML, front-end tech like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, plus PowerShell scripting.
- Understanding of DevSecOps including Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure coding methods, and security scanning tools.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting software bugs, production challenges, and enhancing application performance.
- Familiar with Visual Studio, VS Code, GitHub, Jira, MSTest, NUnit, xUnit, Fortify, and CodeQL tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, documentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
- Preferably experienced as a federal contractor or government worker and in government healthcare sectors.
- Must be able to work remotely during Eastern Time Zone hours and fulfill security clearance and onboarding protocols.
