About the Role and Company
Clean Harbors is seeking skilled Oilsands Sandblasters or Blasting Machine Operators to join their safety-driven team located at CNRL Albian in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This position operates under the 362 Teamsters Union and offers a full hourly wage of $35.81.

Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe operational environment at all times.
- Clean surfaces by removing dirt, paint, grease, and other buildup using abrasive blasting techniques.
- Set up, operate, and maintain blasting equipment such as blast pots and spray pumps, including repairs as necessary.
- Support painting tasks involving spray application or manual methods like brush and roll when required.
- Conduct on-the-spot problem solving and troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.
- Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork related to blasting activities.
- Perform field-level risk assessments and participate in daily safety meetings to promote workplace safety.
- Collaborate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors, contributing as a reliable team member.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by management as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record; Class 3 license is advantageous.
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience in abrasive blasting environments, familiar with the operation of mobile blast equipment, power tools, and safe handling procedures.
- Prior experience in oilsands operations is beneficial.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working at heights, including operating JLG lifts and cranes with man baskets.
- Hold valid First Aid, H2S Alive, and CSO certifications or be willing to obtain them before starting (training available).
- Work independently with minimal supervision within a team-oriented and safety-conscious culture.
- Willingness to work a 14/14 day-night shift rotation.
- Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions.
