Role Overview
The Human Resources Officer is a full-time position located on-site in Lusaka Province. This role is responsible for managing the daily HR functions, including enforcing HR policies, maintaining employee records, and facilitating recruitment, onboarding, and staff orientation activities. The officer handles employee relations, supports performance management, updates and ensures accuracy of job descriptions, organizes training and development programs, and monitors compliance with labor laws and internal standards. The role also encompasses assisting with payroll and benefits coordination alongside the finance team and collaborating with different department heads to promote a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving workforce that supports excellent guest service.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Human Resources operations and HR Management in a service-driven environment.
- Skillful in developing and managing HR policies and job descriptions for compliance and clarity.
- Competent in handling employee relations, including conflict resolution, workplace coaching, and fostering an inclusive culture.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management abilities with an emphasis on confidentiality and detail-oriented work.
- Experience in hospitality or related customer-centric industries is preferred, along with knowledge of local labor legislation and HR best practices.
- Familiarity with HR information systems or relevant software tools.
- Educational background preferably includes a diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, along with prior experience in an HR officer capacity.
