Role Overview
This position is responsible for supporting shopfloor HR and administrative operations at the Nanjangud site, with a strong focus on employee experience, industrial relations, statutory adherence, and contract workforce coordination.
High-Performance Culture
- Help build a results-driven culture on the shopfloor by setting clear expectations and encouraging accountability and consistency.
- Model and reinforce effective leadership behaviours through day-to-day engagement with employees and contract staff.
- Foster a workplace rooted in trust and respect, where people feel acknowledged and supported.
- Set up both structured and informal ways to listen to employees, such as skip-level interactions, floor meetings, and feedback sessions, to stay connected to the workforce pulse.
- Identify concerns early, monitor employee sentiment, and turn insights into practical actions that improve engagement and overall experience.
- Support initiatives related to employee engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion to help maintain a healthy and sustainable work environment.
Employee Relations and Grievance Handling
- Serve as the initial contact for operators and shopfloor employees.
- Address grievances promptly and fairly, while keeping proper records.
- Assist with investigations and disciplinary actions when needed.
- Help maintain a compliant and positive industrial relations climate.
Statutory Compliance and Governance
- Partner with the external compliance vendor to ensure adherence to all relevant labour laws in Karnataka, including the Factories Act, CLRA, Shops & Establishment, PF, ESI, Bonus, and Gratuity requirements.
- Ensure the vendor keeps all required statutory registers, records, and documents in order as per legal standards.
- Support regular compliance audits and follow through on closure of observations with the vendor and external contractor.
Contract Workforce Management
- Review shift manpower requirements and work proactively with the manpower contractor to ensure the right people are deployed.
- Track contractor performance and carry out periodic reviews.
Facilities Coordination
- Work with service providers to ensure employees and contractors receive timely and adequate facility-related support.
