Job Overview

We are currently seeking dedicated Hospital Security Officers to join our team serving the Kent area, including locations such as Margate, Ashford, and Dover. This role is demanding both physically and mentally, yet offers great personal satisfaction. The pay rate is £12.71 per hour. Successful candidates will work onsite ensuring safety and security within hospital premises.

Role Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the hospital's internal security management, adhering to directions from Hospital Security Managers.
  • Oversee and manage crowds, entrances, lobbies, wards, and parking areas surrounding the hospital facilities.
  • Assist the general public by providing helpful information and directions related to hospital services and the local vicinity.
  • Maintain a safe and secure atmosphere for patients, staff members, and contractors through a vigilant security presence.
  • Support NHS personnel and react swiftly to any incidents or emergencies.
  • Apply conflict management techniques to calm tense situations, reducing the need for physical intervention.
  • Use two-way radios for effective communication and diligently document activities and any events during shifts.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Door Supervisor licence.
  • Confirmed Right to Work status in the UK.
  • Employment and education history covering the past five years.
  • Ability to commute to the specified locations within an hour's travel time.
  • Capability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Remain composed under pressure and possess strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient use of two-way radios for communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Present a professional image in appearance and conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working within NHS hospital environments.
  • Background in security roles involving conflict management.
  • Additional certifications such as Emergency First Aid, ACT, Safeguarding, Fire Marshall duties, Manual Handling, or Conflict Management training.
