Overview

This leadership role is with a partner company seeking a seasoned Head of Operations based in Italy for a fully remote global financial services organization. The position involves shaping and expanding the foundational operational frameworks to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant services across multiple operational domains.

Key Responsibilities

Formulate and implement an all-encompassing operations strategy aligned with corporate goals to drive efficiency, scalability, and compliance adherence.
Manage essential operational divisions including payments, treasury, reconciliations, card processing, back-office, and broader business operations.
Take charge of operational outcomes by defining performance metrics, enforcing controls, and spearheading initiatives to uphold superior service standards.
Lead continuous process enhancements, automation, and transformative operational projects utilizing technology, data analytics, and AI-backed tools.
Develop and standardize operating procedures to enhance operational consistency, efficiency, and transparency.
Recruit, mentor, and cultivate a high-achieving operations team emphasizing accountability and collaboration.
Collaborate with compliance, risk management, and financial crime departments to ensure operations conform to all regulatory and internal mandates.
Establish comprehensive operational risk frameworks encompassing monitoring, reporting, control mechanisms, and audit preparedness.
Work cross-functionally with technology, data, human resources, and client-facing teams to maintain cohesive business operations.
Supervise the complete lifecycle of digital asset settlement functions, including reconciliation, wallet oversight, custody controls, and management of crypto-fiat transaction processes.

Qualifications

Over ten years of escalating leadership experience within operations in regulated financial sectors such as banking, fintech, financial services, or wealth management.
Proven track record in overseeing and expanding complex operational functions comprising payments, treasury, settlements, and business support operations.
Demonstrated expertise in process optimization, operational reengineering, automation, and establishing scalable processes.
In-depth knowledge of financial compliance, AML regulations, and measures for financial crime prevention.
Experienced in leading diverse teams and fostering high-performing operational environments.
Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving capabilities.
Strategic orientation with an ability to convert business objectives into operational initiatives.
Valuable experience in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital asset operations.
Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote, international setting and able to maintain reliable high-speed internet connectivity with a dedicated workspace.
