Job description
Role Overview
The Grants Officer will support the Grants Director in spotting funding opportunities, managing funds acquisition, and overseeing project rollout. The position also involves taking on project leadership duties as needed and assisting in preparing accurate reports for both management and stakeholders.
Core Duties
- Assist in identifying and evaluating grant opportunities.
- Help prepare and submit grant proposals and applications.
- Ensure adherence to donor policies, rules, and procedures.
- Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of funded projects’ progress.
- Keep precise records and documentation of grants and related reports.
- Draft regular progress and financial statements for funders and management.
- Support assigned projects as a project assistant.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five O Level credits (including English and Mathematics) or an equivalent qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Experience with grant writing, grant management, and project proposal drafting is advantageous.
- A proven track record of successfully securing grants will be valuable.
- Membership of a relevant professional body is preferred.
