Role Overview

We seek a graduate or junior software engineer to contribute to our banking infrastructure development. This opportunity suits those beginning their careers who want to grasp the movement of money and develop critical systems relied upon by other companies. You will collaborate with seasoned engineers experienced in licensed banking infrastructure, receive code reviews, and take on meaningful responsibilities while receiving support and guidance for growth.

Key Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining API services utilized by customers
Working with real-time ledger systems tracking all financial transactions
Supporting Australian payment rails such as NPP, PayID, PayTo, and BECS
Contributing to card issuing processes, digital wallets, and stored-value features
Assisting in compliance tools including transaction monitoring and reporting systems
Producing thorough tests, accurate documentation, and clean, reviewable code

Technology Stack

The tech stack varies across products and includes Rust where performance and safety are critical. We prioritize candidates comfortable learning new technologies as needed.

Candidate Profile

A degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Experience coding in TypeScript and eagerness to learn diverse technologies used by the company
Interest in fintech, payment systems, and financial technologies
Strong attention to detail, crucial for precise financial data handling
Effective communication skills and proactive in asking questions
Flexibility to work on-site in either Melbourne or Brisbane in a hybrid work environment
No prior banking background required, but a commitment to quality work is essential
