Job Overview
The Gate Checker plays a crucial role in managing the flow of traffic at the plant, ensuring accurate records by verifying all vehicle movements and materials handled.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and guide all visitors arriving at the facility.
- Manage customer vehicle pickups efficiently.
- Monitor and record all incoming and outgoing vehicles at the plant gate.
- Count, sort, and verify material types and quantities.
- Match inventory records to physical counts of materials on trucks accurately.
- Ensure that loads and unload totals are consistent with assigned routes.
- Confirm trailer seals correspond with driver documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness of the gate area, office, and surrounding premises.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Comply with safety requirements including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety-toed shoes when necessary.
- Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.
- Proficient in English for reading, writing, and speaking.
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
- Ability to safeguard company property.
- Competent with company technology and resources.
- Education: Less than high school education required or equivalent experience/training up to six months.
- Available to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedules as necessary.
- Capable of performing physical activities including frequent sitting, standing, walking, and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with relevant departments regarding driver issues.
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
Physical Demands
- Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, crawling, typing, and overhead reaching.
- Regular use of personal protective equipment and working outdoors with exposure to weather.
- Must wear safety-toed footwear when operating industrial equipment or working in designated areas.
Work Schedule
Monday: 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
Tuesday to Friday: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
