Mindrift seeks proficient Full-Stack Web Application Developers skilled in JavaScript/TypeScript combined with Python or Node.js to contribute to the Tendem project. This initiative focuses on creating interactive browser-based applications within a hybrid AI and human environment. The role, termed an AI Pilot at Mindrift, involves cooperation with Tendem Agents who automate repetitive tasks, while you provide comprehensive engineering know-how, architectural insights, and quality assurance to deliver functional and reliable web applications ready for production use.

Mindrift’s platform connects experts with AI ventures led by leading technology innovators worldwide. Their mission is to harness the capabilities of Generative AI by involving real-world specialists globally. This freelance, part-time remote position centers around the Tendem project, requiring development, enhancement, and maintenance of browser-based tools such as habit trackers, budgeting utilities, internal dashboards, mini-SaaS applications, and AI-powered solutions. Additional tasks may involve standalone Python programs and data-processing scripts that support these web products.

Key Duties

• Create dynamic web applications using frontend frameworks like React, Next.js, Vue, or equivalents combined with backend APIs developed with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) or Node.js (Express).
• Craft and implement robust data models, database schemas, and persistence mechanisms utilizing SQL (PostgreSQL, SQLite) or NoSQL databases.
• Develop authentication systems, manage sessions, and apply fundamental role-based access controls as necessary.
• Incorporate external APIs and AI or Large Language Model services such as OpenAI or Anthropic to enhance product functionalities.
• Manage application state, validate user inputs, and properly handle error and loading conditions.
• Author standalone Python scripts and tools for tasks including data processing, API client creation, and lightweight backend utilities.
• Assess AI-generated full-stack code, then refine it for correctness, security, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Produce clear, testable code and resolve issues across the full stack encompassing frontend, backend, and databases.

Qualifications and Benefits

• Minimum of three years’ experience in full-stack development or delivering complete interactive web applications.
• An academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology is advantageous.
• Expertise across full-stack processes including frontend frameworks, backend systems, database management, and API development. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to details, and the capability to independently plan and deploy end-to-end application features are crucial.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue, or Svelte.
• Solid experience in backend development using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django) and/or Node.js tools (Express, NestJS).
• Practical knowledge working with relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite, and fundamental schema design skills.
• Experience implementing RESTful APIs, including request validation, error management, and authentication workflows.
• Knowledge of modern deployment platforms like Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, or Railway.
• Experience integrating AI APIs like LLM services is highly desirable.
• Comfortable using version control systems (Git) and applying fundamental testing methodologies.
• Strong dedication to creating solid, production-ready applications rather than prototypes or demos.
• Ability to work autonomously with a self-driven approach to architecting and delivering features.
• A portfolio demonstrating delivered web applications is required.
• English language skills at an upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher are mandatory.

Estimated commitment ranges from 10 to 20 hours weekly during active phases of the project, though this is an approximation and not a guaranteed schedule.

Compensation for this project may reach up to $60 per hour, based on expertise level and contribution speed. Compensation varies by project complexity and required skill sets.
