Role Overview
The First Mortgage Processor joins the First Mortgage Fulfillment team, focusing on collecting required documentation and guiding members through the mortgage process. This role emphasizes exceptional service delivery within a collaborative team setting, relying on employees who are proactive, dependable, detail-oriented, and member-focused.
Key Duties
- Thoroughly review mortgage applications submitted by loan officers, ensuring all data is complete and adhering to quality standards.
- Complete all processing steps within the Mortgage Loan Origination System.
- Regularly communicate with members to update on status and request any outstanding documents as per underwriting or credit union policies.
- Maintain processing turnaround times according to management’s service standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to support workflow.
Additional Tasks
- Organize and index loan documents within electronic systems.
- Order necessary loan documents and services such as Verifications of Employment, vendor reports, and payoffs.
- Submit finalized loan applications to underwriting for evaluation.
- Coordinate with the Home Equity team on related applications.
- Provide improvement suggestions regarding processes, change controls, and workflow management.
- Independently manage loan pipelines.
- Undertake other assigned projects and duties as directed by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: At least 1 year of mortgage lending experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Preferred familiarity with RESPA, TILA, TRID, ECOA, and HMDA regulations.
- Preferred knowledge of agency guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA) and tools such as FNMA DU and FHLMC LP.
Physical Demands
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods, sitting or standing.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly wage ranges from $24.62 to $36.00, based on experience and educational background. Additional compensation includes annual corporate-wide incentives.
