Role Overview
As a Facilities Engineer based in Doha, Qatar, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and management of multiple properties, ensuring they remain in excellent condition and comply with regulatory standards. You will oversee maintenance activities, coordinate with contractors, manage budgets, and implement initiatives to optimize facility functionality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a detailed maintenance plan covering all properties to maintain peak operational status.
- Oversee and coordinate repair and upkeep tasks spanning HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical components, and structural elements.
- Maintain effective partnerships with third-party contractors and service providers ensuring quality and timely services.
- Administer the facilities management budget, track expenditures, and promote cost-efficiency throughout operations.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and implement measures to optimize spending related to facilities.
- Ensure all properties comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations including coordinating inspections and promptly resolving any issues.
- Optimize space usage within properties to elevate operational efficiency and tenant satisfaction.
- Plan and oversee office relocations or renovation projects as necessary.
- Negotiate and manage service contracts for vendors, including janitorial, security, and landscaping providers.
- Monitor vendor performance to guarantee service standards are met consistently.
- Develop and maintain emergency response and disaster recovery plans, conducting regular drills to ensure preparedness among staff and tenants.
- Drive initiatives aimed at energy conservation and environmental sustainability to reduce utility costs and carbon footprint.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing concerns promptly and collaborating with property management teams to meet tenant requirements.
- Keep thorough records of maintenance and repairs, and prepare detailed reports outlining facility performance, budget status, and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities management, particularly in handling upscale residential properties.
