About the Role
Join a leading global professional services firm as an External Security Vetting Analyst. You will play a vital role in managing personnel security clearance processes across various security levels including Baseline, Negative Vetting Level 1, Level 2, and Positive Vetting. This position is located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, with potential locations also including Canberra and Sydney.
Responsibilities
In this essential position, you will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing and processing security clearance cases, applying rigorous quality checks to Personal Security Files, and providing well-founded, evidence-based advice on clearance decisions. Your duties will include:
- Processing security clearances with strict compliance to the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and company standards.
- Utilizing electronic case management systems for efficient and accurate clearance processing.
- Advising on clearance outcomes and effectively managing complex and sensitive security vetting cases.
- Engaging directly with clearance applicants and conducting interviews as necessary.
Required Skills and Attributes
Success in this role demands exceptional attention to detail to identify potential risks within extensive data sets. A steadfast commitment to maintaining high-quality vetting standards and meticulous documentation aligned with PSPF is critical. Strong time management skills will help ensure deadlines and service level agreements are consistently met. Previous experience in vetting within government or similarly high-security environments is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance, with prospects to advance to Negative Vetting Level 2.
- Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting).
- Analytical thinking skills for evaluating sensitive information and assessing national security risks.
