Job Location and Department
This opportunity is based in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India, within the Chemicals division.
Role Purpose
The role involves supporting the development and implementation of human resource initiatives and systems aimed at enhancing employee experience and ensuring seamless business operations through HR interventions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage attendance records utilizing the Solus system.
- Oversee payroll processing and address payroll-related errors.
- Administer contract labor through the SCRUM system.
- Facilitate renewal of statutory licenses and maintain compliance registers as per labor laws.
- Maintain and update employee personal files diligently.
- Coordinate recruitment and induction processes for new hires.
- Handle employee grievances and ensure timely resolution.
- Manage facility services including housekeeping, canteen, and vehicle operations.
- Maintain an up-to-date live HR Management Information System (HRMIS).
- Supervise apprentice management.
- Ensure zero statutory violations and timely closure of employee claims.

- Error-free and timely payroll execution.
- Compliance with statutory requirements and licenses.
- Efficient grievance resolution adhering to turnaround time standards.
- Maintenance of accurate employee records.
Stakeholder Interactions
Internal coordination involves collaboration with plant teams across planning, production, administration, accounts, quality, safety, and environment departments. Externally, the candidate will liaise with vendors, statutory authorities, and consultants.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications: MBA or MSW with a specialization in Human Resource Management.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and Excel; experience in payroll and contract employee management, along with statutory compliance knowledge.
Desirable: Familiarity with SAP systems.
Functional Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of payroll management practices, including vendor oversight and process optimization.
- Comprehensive understanding of labor laws with the capability to handle complex legal situations and safeguard organizational interests.
- Strong recordkeeping ability to manage documentation quality and timelines.
- Experience in developing employee engagement strategies aligned with retention goals using industry best practices.
- Expertise in HRIS systems for process improvement, strategic impact analysis, and technology selection.
