Electrical PMO Engineer

About the Role

Orica is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient execution of plant projects at the Gomia facility. This position suits individuals passionate about both conceptual electrical design and practical site implementation within chemical and process plant environments.

The role encompasses involvement in new construction (greenfield) as well as plant upgrade (brownfield) projects, focusing on adherence to Orica's rigorous electrical system standards from design through commissioning. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed electrical engineering designs and project specifications.
• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of electrical infrastructure.
• Address and resolve onsite technical challenges using root cause analysis.
• Validate workmanship of contractors and OEMs to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Manage and maintain project documentation including drawings, manuals, and procedures within the document management system.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and manage relationships with multiple contractors.
• Support brownfield and minor projects through engineering assistance and contribute to technician skill enhancement.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Possesses 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in the chemical or process industry sectors.
• Exhibits strong competencies in electrical system design, review, and operational optimization.
• Skilled in conducting root cause analysis to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Has foundational knowledge of instrumentation, automation, and electropneumatics.
• Experienced with engineering software tools and proficient in standard office applications.
• Familiarity with SAP is considered a beneficial addition.
