Role Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Ecommerce Specialist to manage daily Shopify platform activities essential for maintaining our dynamic direct-to-consumer (DTC) site. This position suits candidates eager to gain hands-on experience in building and managing an ecommerce storefront, focusing on product setup, collection management, and merchandising updates under close team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Create and configure products within Shopify including structural setup, tagging, image uploading, copy inclusion, and metafield management.
Update and maintain collections by adding or removing items, managing related assets, metafields, and collection rules.
Maintain and refresh storefront assets such as banners, hyperlinks, images, copy, and site navigation elements.
Ensure product data integrity across the catalog with consistent naming conventions, tagging, and image sizing.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures documentation for site-related processes.
Implement merchandising changes such as markdowns, sale pricing updates, and promotions including gift-with-purchase (GWP) and product bundles accurately and on schedule.
Identify and report inventory or pricing discrepancies promptly.
Conduct daily quality assurance checks on various site functionalities, including pages, cart, and checkout, with heightened attention to peak traffic periods.
Verify accuracy of all site elements across different devices and document any bugs with detailed reproduction steps for prioritization.
Demonstrate initiative by understanding site performance metrics, identifying operational gaps, and proposing improvements for process efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

Basic knowledge of Shopify’s administrative tools acquired through education or internship experience.
Adaptability to learn new software systems independently and navigate complex admin environments.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure data accuracy.
Effective written communication skills, particularly in issue reporting and clarifying assistance needs.
Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing work environment with evolving priorities and frequent site updates.
A strong desire to expand understanding of DTC ecommerce operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior hands-on exposure to Shopify admin through personal projects or coursework.
Basic proficiency with spreadsheets for task tracking and simple reporting purposes.
Ambition to advance into more sophisticated merchandising and site operations roles.

Organizational Structure

This position reports directly to the Associate eCommerce Manager and has dotted-line accountability to the Senior eCommerce Manager and Senior Director of Digital Operations.
