Role Summary

The position of Director, AI & Data Strategy in Technical Product Management for Responsible AI commercialization involves leading the advancement of Mastercard’s internal Responsible AI tools into robust, scalable, market-ready products and consulting offerings. This role entails managing the technical direction of Responsible AI platforms and guiding solution architecture efforts to ensure these offerings meet audit, regulatory, and commercial standards worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation of internal Responsible AI capabilities into client-adoptable products and consulting accelerators.
  • Define and manage technical product requirements, including epics, acceptance criteria, and dependencies, emphasizing usability, operability, and governance compliance.
  • Establish comprehensive product standards ensuring commercial readiness such as documentation, audit materials, support frameworks, version control, and operating models.
  • Translate Responsible AI and data science concepts into client-facing value propositions and clear engineering directives.
  • Monitor product adoption and performance to guide product lifecycle decisions including enhancements or retirement.
  • Collaborate with customers, regulators, and partners to understand deployment environments and regulatory expectations.
  • Architect end-to-end Responsible AI systems integrating data pipelines, machine learning models, orchestration layers, APIs, monitoring, and human oversight mechanisms.
  • Implement designs that embed governance controls, accountability, and evidence generation compliant with regulatory and operational needs.
  • Develop reusable reference architectures, best practice patterns, and delivery playbooks to enable consistent client deployments.
  • Work with privacy, security, and governance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory approval and withstand audits and due diligence.
  • Provide architectural vision and rationale to delivery teams to support implementation and client rollout.
  • Partner with commercial, consulting, and delivery teams to ensure offerings are well-scoped, repeatable, and scalable.
  • Advise stakeholders on balancing risks, scalability, explainability, delivery efforts, and operational sustainability.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by bridging policy, technology, and commercial execution.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and resolve conflicts to facilitate effective execution without formal authority.
  • Adhere strictly to Mastercard's security policies, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and compliance with mandatory trainings and breach reporting.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong academic qualifications in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience in building, testing, approving, and managing AI or data science systems post-deployment lifecycle.
  • Track record delivering production-grade AI platforms or tooling for external users.
  • Experience directly engaging customers, regulators, government agencies, vendors, or systems integrators.
  • Capability to operate effectively in ambiguous settings, driving decisions through influence and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Expertise in building or scaling Responsible AI governance tooling encompassing monitoring, documentation, approval workflows, and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with responsible AI market landscape and relevant products.
  • Long-term eligibility to work in Singapore is required.
  • Preferred skills: Python, SQL, Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, SageMaker, machine learning frameworks, data pipeline architectures, model evaluation techniques, and software architecture principles.
  • Experience contributing to centers of excellence or platform teams supporting multiple business units or clients is advantageous.

Success Criteria

  • Successful commercialization of internal Responsible AI tools into client-ready, scalable products and consultancy accelerators.
  • Development of clear product roadmaps and maturity models facilitating repeatable delivery at scale.
  • Deployment of Responsible AI solutions across varied customer infrastructures.
  • Frequent reuse of reference architectures and delivery playbooks across regions and projects.
  • Enhanced organizational capability to operationalize Responsible AI commercially.

Security Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Mastercard’s security policies and practices.
  • Protect confidentiality and integrity of accessed information.
  • Report any suspected security breaches.
  • Complete all mandatory security training as per guidelines.
