About the Role

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your retail and customer service skills. This position involves delivering outstanding customer service while upholding Walmart’s core values. You will be responsible for maintaining the deli area in an organized and presentable manner, supporting stock management, and assisting customers with their deli purchases.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize the deli department space.
• Manage stock rotation to ensure products are fresh and remove expired items.
• Make sure all merchandise is correctly labeled and priced.
• Comply with food safety standards, including cold chain protocols, thermometer calibration, accurate temperature logging, proper food handling, product rotation, and monitoring sell-by and expiration dates.
• Receive and fill orders for deli items such as sliced meats, cheeses, and fried chicken, providing customer assistance as needed.
• Support front-end associates by assisting with price checks.
• Prepare deli food orders using slicers, stackers, and various utensils; cook chicken with rotisserie ovens and deep fryers; assemble salads and side dishes for display and individual customer orders.
• Keep the deli space tidy and free from clutter, debris, or any unsafe objects or liquids.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.70.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must be at least 16 years old to be eligible for this role.
