Data Center Security Specialist

About the Role

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating the global cloud infrastructure that powers AWS services. This team supports all AWS data centers worldwide, managing servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continuous customer access to AWS innovations. The environment involves complex challenges with many variables affecting the supply chain.

As a Data Center Security Specialist, you will join a cross-functional team composed of software, hardware and network engineers, supply chain experts, security professionals, and operations managers. You will collaborate across AWS to ensure the highest safety and security standards while maintaining substantial capacity at competitive costs. Core Responsibilities

• Oversee daily physical security activities for assigned AWS Data Center(s) following direction from experienced management.
• Evaluate vendor compliance according to established work orders, track deliverables, and escalate issues requiring corrective action to senior team members.
• Offer continuous support to all vendors operating within the data center environment.
• Carry out inspections, audits, and reviews ensuring adherence to AWS physical security policies and standards.
• Take the lead on media security protocols and requirements within the Data Center.
• Engage in regular coordination meetings with vendors, data center operations staff, and partner teams to maintain operational consistency.
• Communicate security procedures and policies effectively with partner teams to raise awareness.
• Collaborate with local Security System Integrators to diagnose and resolve security device issues.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree or higher educational qualifications.
• Preferred experience in working with physical security best practices including usage of physical security systems, investigative procedures, management of contract security personnel, and incident resolution.
• Preferred ability to analyze data and extract meaningful insights to guide decision-making processes.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will work closely with the AWS Data Center Physical Security Team to implement security policies and maintain operational safety. Support will be provided to contract guard forces, contractors, and other stakeholders within the Data Center. Candidates must demonstrate a readiness to acquire new competencies and foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to uphold high security standards.
