About the Role

As a Data Analyst at BizTech Staffing, you will play a pivotal role connecting business inquiries with data-driven insights. Collaborating closely with internal teams and clients, you will uncover the underlying business needs behind reporting requests and craft impactful Power BI dashboards, SSRS reports, and SQL queries that deliver actionable answers. You will serve not only as a report creator but also as a trusted advisor shaping data usage across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders and clients to clarify objectives, deeply understand report purposes, and identify the core business requirement beyond superficial requests.
• Design, develop, and maintain semantic models, visualizations, measures, and dashboards in Power BI applying sound data modeling and DAX techniques.
• Create, test, deploy, and manage SSRS reports, including parameters, expressions, datasets, subscriptions, and polished export formats.
• Construct and optimize complex SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and functions that drive reports and analytical datasets.
• Utilize Microsoft Fabric’s lakehouse, data warehouse, and semantic modeling features to support scalable analytics solutions.
• Assess each reporting need to recommend the most sustainable and effective solution, whether enhancing existing reports, creating new dashboards, data extracts, or adjusting underlying data.
• Perform validation and troubleshooting by comparing outputs with source systems, investigating inconsistencies, determining root causes, and facilitating corrections.
• Optimize performance by analyzing execution plans, refining queries, datasets, and report designs to ensure reliability and speed.
• Document processes clearly, maintain consistent metric definitions, and develop reusable reporting components to reduce one-off solutions and duplicated logic.
• Communicate analysis results, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences including clients and leadership.
• Participate in advancing the organization’s analytics maturity by supporting modernization efforts towards self-service reporting and adoption of Microsoft data platforms.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred 3 to 5 years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, report development, or database reporting, particularly in environments interfacing with clients or business teams.
• Proficiency with SQL Server, SSRS, Power BI, and expertise in DAX for data modeling and measures.
• Familiarity with Microsoft product ecosystem is advantageous.
• A consultative approach: asking insightful questions, applying critical thinking, and a commitment to designing sustainable data solutions.
