Customer Delivery Driver (Permanent, 30-35 Hours) - Newbridge

Role Overview

At Tesco, we prioritise our people and are currently recruiting Customer Delivery Drivers to join our team in Newbridge, County Kildare. This role places you as the first point of contact for our customers, delivering an outstanding home shopping experience. The position involves a dynamic workday with varied tasks, requiring a hands-on approach and physical activity. You will operate independently on your delivery routes supported by managers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent service by putting customers' needs first during home deliveries.
• Assist in loading the delivery van and ensure vehicle roadworthiness before departure.
• Adhere to the planned delivery schedule and routes designed for efficiency.
• Present yourself professionally in uniform, ready to assist customers.
• Operate the vehicle safely, responsibly, and comply with all driving laws.
• Maintain courteous behaviour towards all road users.
• Greet customers warmly, addressing them by name to build rapport.
• Handle customer deliveries with care as if they were your own possessions.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Hold a full Irish or EU driving licence (manual or automatic) valid for at least two years, with no more than three penalty points.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving habits.
• Enjoy assisting others and delivering great customer service.
• Possess a friendly personality, good humour, and strong communication skills.
• Be proactive with the ability to apply common sense independently.
• Care about making a positive impact on customers and colleagues alike.
• Remain calm and composed in pressured situations.

Additional Information

Applicants should note that offers are conditional on passing Garda Vetting and providing proof of penalty points from the National Driver Licence Services at the assessment stage. Individuals disqualified from driving in the past 10 years are ineligible.

Successful candidates must provide bank account details prior to commencing employment.

Shift Patterns and Contract Details

• Various shifts available, offering flexibility.
• Part-time and full-time contracts are available ranging from 20 to 39 hours weekly.
• Hourly pay starts at €18.24 for new drivers, with extra premium rates for Sunday work.
