Credit Officer

About the Position

A respected financial organization located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana is looking to hire qualified individuals as Credit Officers. This role is focused on managing and expanding the credit portfolio at the Branch level, ensuring responsible credit evaluation, and maintaining compliance with prudential standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage and develop the institution's credit portfolio within the assigned branch.

Educational and Professional Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or any related field is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in banking or a similar sector.
• Proficiency in commercial credit evaluation techniques.
• Well-versed in interpreting financial statements with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain professionalism, ethics, and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
• Capable of growing and managing a credit portfolio effectively.
• Ability to clearly justify credit decisions and operate within delegated credit authority.
• Skilled in preparing and delivering timely prudential and management reports.

Compensation and Location

The position offers an attractive and negotiable salary package. The job is based in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, specifically in Kumasi.
