Role overview
We are looking for a Creative Designer to join a remote team supporting projects across Australia, excluding Perth and Adelaide. This is a 6-month contract role focused on producing high-quality visual design across print, digital, and multimedia channels, while helping maintain a strong and consistent brand presence.
What you will do
- Create polished graphics for internal and external use, such as presentations, documentation, infographics, and promotional assets.
- Partner with print vendors to refine artwork and deliver files that are ready for production and meet brand and quality standards.
- Help maintain a unified visual identity across all communication materials.
- Contribute to the design and layout of both printed and digital creative assets.
- Develop multimedia content for different platforms with a strong focus on quality and originality.
- Take part in idea-generation sessions and contribute fresh concepts to improve visuals and user experience.
- Support the rebuild of online experiences by creating interfaces that are intuitive and user-friendly.
- Work alongside the Experience Designer to plan, sketch, and prototype new features for digital platforms.
- Ensure all creative output aligns with project objectives and brand standards.
Essential requirements
- Background as a Graphic Designer, supported by a strong portfolio showing a variety of design work.
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as Microsoft Office tools such as Word and PowerPoint.
- Solid grasp of design fundamentals, including typography, colour, and composition.
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of visual quality.
- Ability to juggle several projects and deliver within deadlines in a busy environment.
- Clear communication and strong teamwork skills.
- Current NV1 or above Australian Government security clearance.
Desirable experience
- Understanding of user experience design principles and good UX practices.
- Exposure to wireframing and prototyping tools, especially Figma.
- Awareness of responsive design and accessibility requirements.
- Familiarity with content management systems and web development workflows.
- Interest in building further skills in user experience design.
Experience and traits
- At least 4 years of experience in a digital agency environment as a Graphic Designer or UI Designer.
- A portfolio that highlights major projects, your specific contribution, the outputs delivered, and the outcomes achieved.
- Strong verbal and written communication, demonstrated through both conversation and portfolio work across different design stages.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, occasionally uncertain environment, with a proactive and decisive approach.
- Ability to independently manage the design review process and complete design requirements.
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams to deliver multiple successful projects.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- A good sense of humour.
