Role Overview
This role, based in Darwin, supports the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects by handling procurement, contract administration, cost management, and project coordination efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage subcontract agreements across the project lifecycle from procurement through to close-out.
- Ensure adherence to head contract and subcontract obligations as per contract terms.
- Prepare, review, and administer variations, time extensions, contractual notices, and progress claims.
- Develop scope of works, tender documents, and procurement packages.
- Coordinate subcontractor tendering activities including evaluations and recommendations.
- Track and report on project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
- Maintain commercial registers, procurement and payment schedules, and project documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of head contract claims, final accounts, and commercial documentation.
- Identify contractual and commercial risks and aid in resolving related issues.
- Engage with project managers, engineers, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors on contractual and commercial matters.
- Monitor procurement and subcontractor deliverables alongside key project milestones.
- Keep detailed and accurate contract records and correspondence.
- Support project teams to ensure commercial and project records are comprehensive and accurate.
- Participate in project and commercial meetings, facilitating effective communication between delivery and commercial teams.
- Foster positive stakeholder relationships to build a collaborative, professional, and high-performing team culture.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commerce, Law, or related fields.
- Between 2 and 5 years' relevant experience in Contracts Administration, Contract Support, Commercial Administration, or similar within the construction sector.
- Thorough knowledge of contract administration, procurement, and cost control principles.
- Experience with subcontract management, handling variations, progress claims, and procurement processes.
- Highly organized with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficient in JobPac, Microsoft Office, and project management/document control software.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced project environment.
