Role Overview
The Communications Project Manager is a full-time, on-site position located in New South Wales, Australia. This role entails managing all phases of communications infrastructure projects, including installations related to data cabling, fibre optics, electrical systems, and security. Core responsibilities include orchestrating project timelines, supervising resource allocation and subcontractors, overseeing budgets and schedules, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations. The role involves preparing comprehensive project documents, progress updates, risk assessments, and maintaining ongoing communication with clients and internal teams to align goals and address any issues promptly. Additionally, the role requires conducting site inspections, promoting quality assurance, implementing safety protocols, and fostering continuous process enhancements in project delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, encompassing planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk oversight specifically for technical or construction-focused initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with communications infrastructure such as data cabling, fibre optic networks, electrical systems, or security installations, accompanied by knowledge of relevant industry standards.
- Strong communication skills enabling effective engagement with stakeholders and clients, alongside the ability to create clear documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating subcontractor activities, and collaborating with on-site personnel to achieve project targets.
- Effective problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on early detection of issues and pragmatic resolution strategies within fast-paced project settings.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety standards and dedication to implementing safe work practices on site.
- Preferred qualifications include diplomas or degrees in project management, engineering, communications, or related areas, as well as certifications like PMP or PRINCE2.
- Experience within the Australian construction or communications industries and familiarity with regulatory requirements in New South Wales are advantageous.
