Role Overview
The CCTV Technician will be engaged full-time in a remote capacity, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining CCTV and security systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Daily activities involve planning and conducting installations, running and terminating cables, mounting cameras, configuring recording devices, and integrating systems with networks and monitoring platforms. The position requires troubleshooting equipment and connectivity problems, carrying out routine checks, and preventive maintenance. Effective remote communication with clients and teams to gather requirements, deliver support, and ensure compliance with safety standards is critical. Maintaining records of installations and services and adhering to safety protocols regarding hazardous materials are also essential job components.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CCTV installation tasks including camera setup, cabling, system configuration, and basic networking related to surveillance.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities to resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in CCTV and security systems.
- Effective communication and customer service skills to interact with clients and internal teams providing clear technical support.
- Knowledge of safety practices and handling of hazardous materials with adherence to company guidelines and regulations.
- Familiarity with remote support tools, basic IT/networking concepts, and experience with NVR/DVR platforms and video management software is advantageous.
- Preferred technical certification or vocational training in electronics, security systems, or similar fields, with prior experience as a CCTV/security technician being beneficial.
- Capability to work autonomously in a remote setting, manage time efficiently, and maintain detailed technical documentation.
