About the Role
Join a pioneering and impactful business revolutionizing customer grocery experiences in the MENA region. The Amazon Now SA Grocery team seeks a proactive individual to build and lead new business initiatives from inception. This fast-evolving role demands rapid adaptation, strong cross-functional collaboration, and authoritative ownership across complex business, technology, and operational processes involving Amazon and partners. Success hinges on thriving amid ambiguity and priorities, strong judgment, analytics expertise, and clear, concise documentation and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive stakeholder alignment internally and externally to secure support for strategic directives.
- Develop sourcing and buying strategies for emerging categories ensuring seamless execution.
- Establish and nurture vendor relationships, managing category profitability and pricing structures.
- Build and grow a capable team steering category performance and development.
- Implement an annual seasonal portfolio to boost store traffic and customer engagement.
- Identify and implement automation to enhance scalability and improve key metrics including selection, profitability, pricing, and availability.
- Take full ownership of the P&L post-launch, collaborating with vendors, operations, and advertising to meet financial targets.
- Continuously refine product mix at the dark store level to minimize shrinkage and elevate customer experience.
- Source promotional deals during major events to provide value to Prime customers.
- Negotiate marketing funding with vendors to increase category visibility in normal and event periods.
- Prepare and execute Annual Joint Business Plans (JBP).
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Excel and data analysis.
- At least 5 years in retail, operations, product/program/business management or consulting with proven negotiation and result delivery capabilities.
- Strong financial analysis skills, including P&L accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling large datasets to inform performance and process enhancements.
- Familiarity with online retail and e-commerce environments.
Additional Information
This position involves working autonomously in a demanding, fast-paced, and ambiguous setting and collaborating with multiple stakeholders across marketing, marketplace, legal, supply chain, and operations. The role is external facing with vendor engagement to establish seasonal and long shelf-life fresh/frozen product selections.
