Position Overview

The cashier role at Safeway is vital in creating positive customer experiences at the point of sale, directly influencing customer loyalty. The role involves friendly and efficient service, cash handling, and maintaining the checkout area. Comprehensive training is provided, and previous experience is not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Welcome customers warmly and courteously.
• Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with Safeway’s standards.
• Handle payments through cash, cheques, credit/debit cards, and gift cards.
• Bag merchandise carefully and assist customers with their purchases.
• Reconcile cash drawer at shift end accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout stations.
• Restock products in the check stand area as needed.
