Role Overview
As a CAD Technician, you will be integral to ensuring that custom closet designs are precise, ready for production, and prepared for installation. Collaborating intimately with Design, Manufacturing, and Installation teams, you will help transition projects smoothly from initial concepts through to final completion, guaranteeing a superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Export and prepare design files for manufacturing using software like ClosetPro and CSV formats.
- Validate measurements, wall dimensions, and specifications for each job.
- Review and confirm that approved designs are production- and installation-ready.
- Manage coordination of special-order materials and assist with production scheduling.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and support during installation for field teams.
- Conduct home visits to verify dimensions or resolve project challenges when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least one year of CAD or technical drafting experience.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities.
- Capability to handle multiple projects efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- Strong technical proficiency and willingness to learn new software tools.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Self-motivated with the skill to work independently and coordinate cross-functionally.
Preferred Backgrounds
- Experience in custom closets or cabinetry industries.
- Familiarity with residential remodeling or home improvement projects.
- Proficiency in CAD drafting or technical design roles.
- Experience in installation, production planning, or project coordination.
- Exposure to Closet Factory or similar organizations is advantageous.
- The role suits candidates with practical installation or construction knowledge, combined with an interest in technical problem-solving, CAD use, and project management.
