Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and commercially astute Buyer to join our Buying team at the Support Office. This hands-on role involves selecting and sourcing product ranges that enhance performance across our network of stores. The Buyer collaborates closely with suppliers, planners, and store teams to ensure every product range is both commercially viable and aligned with customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement product strategies centered around customer demand and company goals.
• Establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships, negotiate pricing, and set trading agreements.
• Utilize sales data and analyze market trends to inform purchase decisions.
• Work closely with merchandising and logistics departments to manage stock levels and promotional activities.
• Continuously evaluate product performance and adjust the category mix to optimize sales.
• Identify and bring innovative, value-driven products that satisfy evolving customer preferences.
• Represent the Choice Stores brand in all supplier interactions and product selections.

Candidate Profile

• Driven and adaptable individuals who excel in teamwork environments.
• Excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and problem-solving aptitude.
• Proactive approach with a willingness to embrace learning and change.
• At least 2 years of experience in retail buying or product selection, preferably within FMCG or general merchandise sectors.
• Sharp commercial insight with a strong understanding of market trends and consumer behavior.
• Effective negotiation skills and capability to manage supplier relationships.
• Detail-oriented with an ability to operate efficiently in a fast-moving retail setting.
• A passion for retail and a commitment to fostering growth.
