Business Operations Associate

About the Role

We seek a proactive Business Operations Associate who excels in uncertain environments and enjoys creating foundational systems. This role bridges finance, operations, analytics, and automation, collaborating directly with the founders to establish the operational framework of a rapidly expanding AI startup. The candidate will manage wide-ranging, cross-functional projects, promote operational efficiency, and develop scalable processes to support substantial business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain the analytical and operational systems underpinning the business.
• Own and expand essential business operations like billing, vendor oversight, and internal platforms.
• Collaborate closely with founders and upcoming finance leadership to guide strategic planning leveraging data-driven insights.
• Create and deploy automation solutions such as Slack integrations, AI-driven workflows, SQL-based reports, and return-on-investment models to reduce manual tasks.
• Lead cross-departmental projects across finance, go-to-market operations, internal tools, and strategic operations.
• Design dashboards and reporting structures to enhance decision-making capabilities.
• Refine internal workflows and seek automation opportunities as the company ramps toward an eightfold annual recurring revenue increase.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Between two to five years of professional experience.
• Approximately two years at a leading investment bank, top management consulting firm, or private equity organization.
• At least one year in finance, business operations, or strategy within an early-stage startup (Seed to Series B preferred).
• Demonstrated capacity to lead multi-disciplinary initiatives independently in fast-moving, minimally structured settings.

Technical Expertise

• Proficiency in SQL with capabilities to write and refine complex analytical queries.
• Experience developing internal tools, automating processes, and designing operational workflows.
• Strong skills in financial modeling and analytical evaluation.
• Knowledge of Slack integrations, workflow automation, AI tools, or low-code automation platforms is advantageous.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or Finance.
• Graduation from a prestigious university highly preferred.
• MBA from a recognized institution or supplementary computer science/engineering coursework is considered a plus.
