Role Opportunity
We are seeking a driven and commercially focused Business Development Associate to join our full-time, onsite team located in Waterford. This role requires five days a week onsite presence and entails international travel within Europe and the US.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research potential new clients and commercial prospects.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of potential customers, including their products and business needs.
- Assist with international business development activities utilizing various research tools such as industry databases, email, and professional networks.
- Maintain precise records of customer details and commercial documentation.
- Contribute to the development and management of the pipeline for prospective customers.
- Collaborate with senior business development staff on ongoing commercial endeavors.
- Work cross-functionally with Technical, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams.
- Conduct market analysis on pharmaceutical companies, their products, therapeutic areas, and outsourcing trends.
- Monitor competitor actions and identify new opportunities within the CMO/CDMO pharmaceutical market.
- Support preparation of customer meetings, proposals, and commercial negotiations.
- Participate in select customer meetings, conferences, and exhibitions across Europe and the US.
- Develop deep insight into the pharmaceutical manufacturing landscape and the CMO/CDMO sector.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a Level 8 degree in Business, Science, or a related field with a strong academic record.
- Exhibits strong ambition and commercial acumen with a genuine interest in business development.
- Demonstrates initiative through previous work experience, internships, academic projects, entrepreneurial activities, or society involvement.
- Possesses curiosity, engages through inquisitive questioning, and adapts swiftly to new knowledge.
- Approaches challenges with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Committed to hard work and willing to take responsibility beyond standard expectations.
- Located in Waterford or willing to relocate/commute to the area.
