Business Analyst

Role summary

As a Business Analyst in the FinOps function, you will deliver high-impact analysis, work with large and complex datasets, and convert findings into practical improvements that strengthen business performance. The role combines strategic analysis with hands-on operational support.

You will spend a significant amount of time on case and service management, acting as the main connection point between external vendor teams and internal sales stakeholders. With direction from senior leaders, you will handle complex issues, run office hours for internal users, and help close service gaps by creating the workflows and resources needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Using strong analytical capability and vendor-management experience, you will also perform root cause analysis and support continuous service improvement efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact between vendor teams and internal sales customers to resolve difficult operational cases.
• Independently manage complex issues and host consultation sessions for internal stakeholders during office hours.
• Spot recurring service gaps and build new resources, workflows, or services that improve the overall service model.
• Analyse business performance opportunities and recommend actions that improve execution within the FinOps team.
• Work with large, complex datasets to carry out detailed root cause analysis on operational and billing issues.
• Design operational metrics, monitor case health, and turn data into clear reports and dashboards for leadership and clients.
• Provide fast, ad-hoc analytical support to group or area leaders when needed.
• Support initiatives that connect internal and external business objectives with backend systems and integrations.
• Assist in evaluating new market, product, or business-unit opportunities.
• Balance strategic analysis with frontline case support while managing stakeholder expectations in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a case-management environment supporting deal-making, contracting, or billing systems.
• Experience with ERP or billing platforms is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce is highly preferred.
• Background in vendor management and service design, including the ability to create workflows independently.
• Strong capability in data analysis, data synthesis, and experimental design.
• SQL skills are highly desirable.
• Experience with data visualisation or dashboarding tools is highly desirable, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Strong analytical judgement and confidence working with complex data.
• Ability to translate technical or analytical findings into persuasive stories for clients and internal leaders.
• Solid understanding of business operations and project management in a cross-functional setting.
