Azure Linux Admin: Linux Administrator

About the role

Tata Consultancy Services is hiring a Linux Administrator to support enterprise Linux environments in Pune. The role focuses on administering production servers, maintaining high availability setups, and working closely with application and cloud teams in an ITIL-driven support environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and manage Linux servers end to end.
• Provide production support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, and Ubuntu systems.
• Administer high availability clusters using Pacemaker and Corosync.
• Track cluster resources, failover behavior, fencing actions, and node health, including cluster build activities.
• Carry out patching, system upgrades, and issue resolution tasks.
• Manage LVM, filesystems, NFS, and related storage components.
• Diagnose boot failures, performance degradation, and server availability problems.
• Handle user administration, sudo privileges, and security hardening measures.
• Support backup operations, monitoring, and log handling.
• Work with SAP application teams and cloud teams to resolve issues.
• Draft root-cause analyses, standard operating procedures, and technical documents.
• Take part in on-call support and change management activities.
• Operate within ITIL processes and support Azure cloud environments.

Preferred profile

Strong hands-on Linux administration capability is expected, along with practical exposure to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12/15. The ideal candidate should have cluster administration experience, familiarity with Pacemaker and Corosync, and working knowledge of LVM, NFS, shell scripting, and systemd services. Experience resolving production incidents is important. Exposure to Microsoft Azure, SAP environments, and Red Hat Satellite is an added advantage. RHCSA or RHCE certification is preferred.
