Automobile Painter

Overview

We are seeking a proficient Industrial Spray Painter and Blaster who can expertly prepare surfaces and apply high-quality coatings on heavy machinery, structural steel, or automotive parts. The candidate should be skilled in the use of airless spray equipment and grit/sandblasting machines to deliver corrosion-resistant finishes that meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out surface cleaning through shot, grit, or sandblasting to remove rust, scale, and old paint adhering to SSPC/ISO guidelines.
• Mix and apply primers, epoxy coatings, and polyurethane paints utilizing airless and traditional spray guns.
• Perform routine cleaning and upkeep of spray guns, nozzles, pumps, pressure tanks, and blasting equipment to minimize downtime.
• Conduct quality inspections by measuring both wet and dry film thickness and examining coated products for defects such as runs or uneven layers.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations by wearing appropriate PPE like air-fed hoods, respirators, and safety footwear, especially when operating in enclosed painting booths or confined spaces.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

• Practical experience operating airless spray painting and grit/sandblasting machinery.
• Knowledge of paint mixing ratios involving base, hardener, and thinner components.
• Familiarity with industrial coatings including epoxy, polyurethane, and specialized primers.
• Basic understanding of standard surface preparation procedures.

Additional Requirements

• Educational qualification of at least 10th grade pass; ITI certification in Painter Trade is preferred but not mandatory if practical experience is substantial.
• Physical capability to manage heavy equipment and maintain productivity in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts as dictated by production demands.
