Position Summary

Join our Cell Lab team in Athlone, Ireland as an Associate Research Scientist, performing key roles in development, validation, stability projects, and specialty technologies. This scientific position involves leadership in technical projects, troubleshooting analytical techniques, data interpretation, and rigorous adherence to standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct analytical testing, method development and validation, method transfers for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds across various formulations and delivery systems.
  • Design and execute experiments while conforming to protocols and methods relevant to assignments.
  • Review, critique, prepare, and finalize study protocols, progress reports, and technical documents.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide technical updates and discuss data.
  • Lead training sessions and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Conduct troubleshooting for analytical procedures and instruments.
  • Assist in drafting and implementing Standard Operating Procedures and quality systems.
  • Analyze and review data to ensure accuracy, compliance with protocols, GMP/GLP guidelines, and client criteria before final submission.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of six years of related experience or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent.

Technical Expertise and Skills

  • Proven experience in method development and validation, especially with cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques.
  • Strong ability to independently investigate root causes in method studies.
  • Competency in using technical operating systems and instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective scientific and technical writing capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills including time and project management.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team-oriented approach with the capacity to train junior staff.

Work Environment and Schedule

  • Standard Monday to Friday work schedule.
  • Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) safety standards is essential.
