Role overview
G-III Apparel Group is looking for an Associate Merchandiser to support the Converse Apparel business from its New York City office in Midtown Manhattan’s Fashion District. This is a full-time, on-site role within the Merchandising team, reporting to the VP of Merchandising.

What you will do
- Help run the seasonal merchandising timeline and keep major product milestones and deadlines on track.
- Review sales results, customer input, past performance, and market signals to guide future assortment decisions.
- Track competitors and new apparel trends to spot opportunities that align with the Converse brand direction.
- Assist with seasonal hindsight analysis to assess results and uncover channel-specific opportunities across wholesale accounts.
- Support pricing decisions so the line stays competitive while protecting internal margin and IMU targets.
- Work with the VP and Director of Merchandising to build seasonal assortment plans for department stores, sporting goods retailers, specialty accounts, and other wholesale partners.
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, Product Development, Production, and Planning teams to move assortments from concept through commercialization.
- Build and update product line sheets, keeping product data, visual line sheets, and merchandising tools accurate and current.
- Assist with line reviews, customer-facing presentations, sample tracking, showroom setup, and seasonal merchandising recaps.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, analytical, and comfortable working across teams in a fast-paced apparel environment. They should be able to think strategically, learn quickly, communicate clearly, and take initiative while showing strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in apparel trends and wholesale retail.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Merchandising, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in apparel merchandising, buying, planning, or product management.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good analytical ability and the capability to interpret sales data and retail performance metrics.
- Understanding of retail math and wholesale merchandising fundamentals.
- Prior exposure to PLM, AS400, or similar merchandising systems is preferred.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Compensation and benefits
The hourly pay range for this position is $31.25 to $36.06. G-III also offers competitive pay along with medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, company holidays, and employee discounts.
